Serve Pancakes at Grace May 20
Every Sunday morning, Grace Lutheran Church in downtown Phoenix serves breakfast to more than 200 people living on the streets. Several times a year, Our Saviour's sends a group of people to help cook and serve the pancakes and sausages. The next opportunity to serve in this capacity will be on Sunday, March 11. The Our Saviour's crew needs to arrive by 6:15 am at Grace wearing closed-toed shoes and a hat. If you would like to be part of this important ministry, please sign up in the Peterson Fellowship Hall. If transportation is an issue or if you have more questions, please contact the church office or Ross Orr.
Our 2018 dates are: May 20, July 8, September 16, and November 1.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Do you knit or crochet? Then come to an informational meeting about the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Prayer shawls to be given to people who need to feel wrapped up in the love of Christ and find out how you can help. Want to know more? Speak with Lennie Andrews or contact the church office.
Feed the Hungry
Please help feed the hungry by contributing to the local food shelf housed at our sister congregation, Trinity Lutheran. There is a collection grocery cart in the lobby of the sanctuary, or feel free to drop of food in the office during the week.
In addition, ready to eat food is distributed to people experiencing homeless who come to our church.
Crop Walk 2017
We had a great group of walkers (a few missed the photo) and better yet, raised over $2200 for CROP Walk Hunger! Thanks to all who gave of their time and their treasure.

Mother's Day Diaper Drive
While celebrating Mother's Day in this year, OSLC’s monthly outreach project will support our Alleluia Lutheran Church in the West Valley with their Diaper Distribution project. This congregation distributes diapers and wipes twice a month to an average of 60 families (all babies and toddlers) pre-selected through an application program.
We are collecting diapers (sizes 4, 5 & 6) as well as packages of wipes. Financial contributions to this project are appreciated and will be matched with Thrivent Choice Dollars. Please write a separate check to OSLC and include on the memo line of your check “Monthly outreach project”. Cash donations should be given in an envelope marked “Monthly Outreach project.”
In addition to collecting needed diapers, OSLC volunteers will be assisting Alleluia with preparing the diaper packages and wipes (Tuesday May 15th at 11am) and help with distribution of the diapers and wipes (Sat. May 19th from 10-am to Noon). Please sign up to serve on the sheet in the Fellowship Hall.
Alleluia says that they have distributed about 1300 diapers twice a month for the past three years. What a privilege to be able to help provide necessary items to mom’s ad their children this Mother’s Day!
If you have any questions please contact Lennie A. or Barbara F. Alleluia Lutheran Church is located at 8444 W. Encanto Ave.
